Providing training opportunities throughout a person’s career is incredibly important to the development and success of your organization. When people feel like their employer invests in their growth and promotes a mindset of continuous learning, they are more likely to stay plugged in; however, developing and facilitating training can be very costly and time consuming, especially for new hires. For almost 20 years, it’s been a priority for us to help you with that. One way we do this is through a training program called Fundamentals First, which is offered both in person and online.

Our in-person onsite version of Fundamentals First has had 862 graduates and is an insurance bootcamp for those newer to the insurance industry, and many of you have sent your people to this program over the years. We hold two sessions a year, and they are structured with daily courses on basic insurance concepts, sales strategies, presentation skills and more. Attendees network with each other and get to know seasoned USLI professionals who facilitate the sessions.

Though the in-person sessions provide an invaluable experience for attendees, we understand the capacity to attend is limited and that not everyone is able to travel to our office in Wayne, PA. We wanted to make it possible for anyone to get started with Fundamentals First right away, no matter where they are located, so we scaled our in-person program and released an on-demand version five years ago. Since we released Fundamentals First On Demand, our USLI University team has been seeing a lot of activity, as over 1,800 of you have enrolled. This is exciting and confirms the need for new hire training in our customer offices.

Though both programs are geared toward those who are newer to the insurance industry, the online version is also a fantastic option for those who would like a refresher on insurance and professional development skills. With Fundamentals First On Demand, you and your people can participate at your own pace, without ever leaving your desk, and interact with our instructors who have years of experience in both the insurance and training industries. It’s still a tremendous experience that can help prepare you for your role.

Many of you have shared that our on-demand option has made a valuable difference in your training and development. Because you are finding these programs so helpful, I am excited to announce that our USLI University team is working on a second tier of our Fundamentals First On Demand program at your request. This program will be an extension of our current offering, and the sessions will build upon what is covered in our first tier while introducing some new insurance topics, sales concepts and power skills development. Stay tuned for more information.

I encourage you to learn more about our Fundamentals First training to see what would be a fit for you. We look forward to seeing the impact these programs make in your office, and we hope to continue to provide value through our training and growth opportunities.
