2022 is the year of weddings! According to The Knot, there will be nearly 2.6 million weddings in the U.S. this year, with 77% taking place from April to October. The Knot also found that weddings are beginning to look like they did pre-pandemic — think big guest lists, numerous vendors and hefty price tags.

With increasing costs and guest lists comes increased exposure to liabilities for marrying couples. Even though a wedding venue and vendors may carry their own insurance, couples can still be held liable or face financial losses.

Newlyweds shouldn’t have to worry about paying out of pocket or putting their homeowners policy on the line if something goes wrong on their big day. Plus, homeowners policies often do not provide adequate limits to meet venue insurance requirements or cover liquor liability losses. USLI’s Wedding Plus product is specifically tailored to each couple’s needs, giving them peace of mind and allowing them to focus on what’s most important: making memories with their new spouse, friends and family.

Consider the following wedding claims:

Six months before their wedding, a couple’s wedding venue went out of business, and they were unable to recoup their $10,000 deposit.

A groomsman driving home from a wedding caused an accident, injuring another driver whose medical bills totaled $300,000. The groomsman had been served alcohol before the reception by the groom and during the reception at the specialty tequila bar.

To protect couples from scenarios like these, USLI provides the following key coverages* for weddings:
