As Indoor Entertainment Reopens, Think of USLI

USLI has a broad appetite for hospitality accounts. You may already think of us first for your bars, restaurants and beer, wine and liquor stores, but we’ve recently grown in another market sector — indoor activities and entertainment.

Entertainment and indoor activity venues are continuing to reopen, once again becoming an option for consumers. With days getting shorter and colder in many areas of the country, we anticipate continued growth at these event venues throughout the holidays and winter season.

We can help you with the liquor liability exposure for these operations. USLI has a monoline liquor appetite for many indoor activity and entertainment locations. Listed below are a few of the location types we can consider:

  • Trampoline parks
  • Bowling alleys
  • Golf simulators
  • Escape rooms
  • Arcades
  • Theaters

We have also seen a rise in other indoor venues that offer alcohol. Offering alcohol can be a way for insureds to create a new or different stream of revenue. Some of these additional venue types are below; please note we are able to consider individual franchise locations.

  • Paint studios
  • Beauty and nail salons
  • Barber shops
  • Spas
  • Retail shopping locations

For these businesses, we can consider a variety of alcohol service exposures. Drinks can be complimentary, patrons can bring their own beer or wine or the applicant can have a license to sell alcohol. If the establishment doesn’t have liquor receipts, we rate based on state minimum premiums, providing a very competitive option.

For many of the operations listed above, alcohol is incidental to their main operations; however, that doesn’t necessarily limit their liquor liability exposure. Concerns for these insureds still include service to minors, over-service or service to an already intoxicated patron resulting in a loss.
