Last year, we learned a lot about ourselves and each other as we navigated isolating and difficult situations. This was especially true for breast cancer patients who rely on a support group of friends, family and doctors to help them make difficult decisions. We learned that through this tremendous adversity, we truly are stronger together.

I’m very proud to announce our October Together — Stronger Together month of virtual events and fundraisers that will benefit Breastcancer.org. Breastcancer.org is a nonprofit that has done incredible work for the breast cancer community. From providing the most up-to-date medical information on their website to offering insight into prevention, diagnosis and treatment, this organization provides individuals with the strength, courage and knowledge they need during some of the hardest moments.

Last year, we saw how October Together broke down the walls of isolation and connected people during a time when they needed it the most. It was empowering to see the support, care and concern we all have for one another. It was also exciting to see how, even during tough times, our passion for each other’s well-being was unwavering. During this year’s October Together, we will host online auctions, a 5K, a jewelry and candy sale, a “Pink Out Your Pet” contest and much more. All of these events are virtual so that you can support this cause from the comfort of your own home, and you’ll even be able to invite your family, friends and colleagues to join the fun. Keep an eye out for an email this month announcing the full list of events.

We’re also excited to offer an exclusive presentation by Dr. Marisa Weiss, founder of Breastcancer.org and Director of Breast Radiation Oncology at Lankenau Medical Center, on October 13 at 12 p.m. Eastern time. I invite all of you to register for this session and join Dr. Weiss for Take Charge of Your Health. She will discuss being your own best advocate when navigating any kind of medical issue, being involved with your doctors’ decision making and understanding research studies that may be relevant to you or someone you care about.

Finally, please remember that we donate 1% of all new business premium to Breastcancer.org during October as part of our 1 Month, 1 Percent, 1 Fight initiative. With each policy you sell, you’re making a real difference in the lives of all people affected by breast cancer all over the world.

I encourage you to visit pink.usli.com to learn more about our initiatives, and I hope you’ll join us in the fight against breast cancer. Let’s continue to look out for ourselves and remind each other to put our physical, mental and emotional health first.

Warm regards,
