With more than 54 million Americans belonging to some type of health club, according to Statista, fitness centers are in more demand today than ever before. Of these 54 million people, 42 percent are members at a boutique exercise studio specializing in group classes, personal training, CrossFit, Pilates, Yoga, Pure Barre, Zumba, Spin or several other specialized training modalities.

These boutique studios give members access to training routines that are influenced by dynamic trends in the industry designed to keep clients engaged, while also providing results in health and physique.

USLI has developed a pre-packaged solution to meet the unique needs of boutique fitness studios, whether they are a multi-location boot camp or a single suite aerobics studio.

The following claim examples demonstrate scenarios where our variety of coverages would apply.

Professional Liability: Ellen is a regular at a CrossFit gym. During one of her workouts, a professional trainer at the gym encouraged her to increase the intensity of her workout. Ellen followed the trainer’s instruction and wound up injuring her back. She sued the CrossFit center for $35,000 in medical costs and loss of wages.

Property: The owner of a spin workout boutique arrived to open the building for the day to find the outside covered in spray paint. The owner called the police, but the vandalism caused $5,000 in damages.

General Liability: An employee at a yoga studio cleaned up a spilled drink in the studio prior to a class starting. When one of the class attendees walked through the room, she slipped and fell because the floor was still wet. After sustaining a non-displaced fibular fracture, she sued the yoga studio for $12,000 in medical expenses and lost wages.

Since our product is dedicated to providing these coverages to the fitness industry, it’s only fitting that our new year’s resolution is getting our Fitness Express product in shape with new updates. Some of the new updates are:

  • Ability to consider fitness centers with sales up to $500,000 per location
  • No premise limitation
